Aside from the renowned Marquesas,
Florida Keys and Everglades, here are some other recommended
destinations...
Bahamas
These beautiful islands stretching from South Florida to just
north of Haiti are ideal for the fly and light tackle angler.
Easy to reach, yet often times remote these stunning islands
offer some of the best bonefishing available in the world.
Belize
Isolated and beautiful, Belize just could be fishermen’s
heaven. Turneffe Atoll is surrounded by an extraordinary eco-system.
The Atoll stretches 30 miles to the north and 10 miles wide.
It encompasses over 200 mangrove islands and countless creeks
and streams that provide shelter and food for a wide variety
of game fish. The waters of Ambergris Cay contains the only classic
tarpon flats outside South Florida and are world renowned for
offering opportunities to site cast to tarpon 12 months a year.
Belize provides outstanding fishing opportunities for bonefish,
tarpon, snook and permit
Costa
Rica
Tarpon fishing can be outstanding any month of the year. Roaming
the warm inshore waters of the Caribbean Sea along the entire
Eastern seaboard, they venture up the many rivers that flow to
the coast. Tarpon commonly travel up the Rio Colorado into the
Rio San Juan all the way to Lake Nicaragua. The fish are always
present and current local weather conditions will play the major
factor in what its feeding habits will be on any given day. |
